Theme 6 Scope & Sequence
This is our final teaching unit of the year. Thank you for joining me on this journey of teaching in the first year of this blog! This unit follows the spirit of the sesason, and is all about a thankful heart and the birth of our Savior. There are so many stories and messages surrounding Thanksgiving and Christmas that young children have already absorbed. May our classrooms be a sacred space where we focus on Jesus, and elevate Him to the rightful place in the hearts and minds of our little ones.

Theme 5 Scope & Sequence
Can preschoolers understand the gospel? If it is taught the correct way, I believe that they can! That is the beauty of God's Word. It is simple enough for a child to grasp, and yet their are endless treasures to seek out and discover for a lifetime.
Sunday school and children's ministry teachers have long used colors as a means for teaching and communicating the gospel to children. Over the next five weeks, we will use five colors to illustrate five basic truths about salvation. We will keep the theology very simple and basic, but by the end of these five weeks, the children in our classes will have a fundamental understanding of the gospel that they can articulate for themselves. In my view, this unit contains some of the most important lessons that we teach. I'm excited to examine these biblical truths with you through the simplistic eyes, and inquisitive minds of our preschoolers, and see the Word of God come alive in their hearts. Theme 4 Scope & Sequence
Hello there! It's good to be back here on the blog!
Although I took a break from blogging for a couple months, teaching and ministering to children has been in full force throughout the summer. It was great to see and meet some of you (and your children) in June at my church's International Bible Conference!
Immediately after Conference, it was time to shift gears into full throttle preparation for Vacation Bible School. This year we did Answers in Genesis' Camp Kilimanjaro: An Epic Expedition Through Proverbs. We had a blast, all centered around the wisdom of God's Word. I'm always impressed with the biblical content in AIG's curriculum, and I especially love the JumpStart3 memory verse music that they have had the last the couple years. The kids love these songs too! Singing God's Word is one of the best ways I know to help kids memorize scripture, and keep it hidden in their heart. JumpStart3 has several albums, and all of their songs are straight scripture. The style of the music is such that even older children find the music appealing. I highly recommend them to use in your children's ministry, or at home with your own children.

For the next two months in my class, we will be exploring the beginning and wonder of God's Creation. This teaching unit is perfect for young children, because it is so visual and tangible. Theme 2 Scope & Sequence

As we continue learning about the life of Jesus, we will be focusing on His power to forgive, heal, provide, protect, and finally, resurrect from the dead in glorious victory! Children love superheroes, and Jesus is the ultimate superhero. Join me as we take our little ones on a journey with Jesus from the cradle to the cross.
